Publisher Nyu Media has announced that they’re expanding public access to the Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm beta on PC. This comes hot on the heels of recent news that the title will be arriving in Japanese arcades on February 12.

Previously available only to those who reached a certain threshold during the group’s crowdfunding efforts, this early build of the indie fighter will now be open to those who donated at least $10. These backers will be receiving their keys via email by the end of the month.

As for when the finished version of the game will come out, Nyu Media is unfortunately unable to provide a firm release date, as lead designer Kotani’s time is currently dominated with this and other projects. That said, the work on the core of the game is done, but there are still some elements needed for the PC release that have yet to be completed.

Tekken 7 Arcade Opening Makes a Strong Case for Mishima Family Therapy

With a Tekken 7 arcade release set for later this month, the folks at Bandai Namco Games have uploaded the opening cutscene that will greet game center patrons before they insert their yen into the machine and test their skills.

Some of this may seem familiar to those of you who saw the initial reveal trailer when it was first shown at Evo 2014, but there’s quite a bit more here to digest, including some new footage of Kazuya Mishima’s volcanic battle against his father Heihachi as well as a few brief glimpses of Kazumi, the protagonist’s mother.

The seventh installment of the popular Tekken franchise will bring to a close the Mishima-centered story that began in 1994, and may hold definite answers to a variety of questions, including details on Heihachi’s vendetta against his grandson Jin Kazama, the true origin of the series’ malevolent Devils, and more.

An early version of Tekken 7 is scheduled to land in Japanese arcades on February 18, with a full release planned for March.
