Das Tal: No Disrespect Meant Towards ArcheAge
Last week, the guys behind the indie sandbox MMO Das Tal stirred the MMO community pot by comparing their game to XLGAMES and Trion Worlds’ ArcheAge, pointing out that AA has had a rocky start and vowing to do better by the player with their own game. The statements from David Wells really struck a nerve within the MMO-verse, and we reached out to him and colleague Alexander Zacherl to comment more on the comparison and their own game’s design.

Apex 2015 Salty Suite Highlights Evo 2014 Rematch, Classic Rivalries, and One Dominant Swede
While the venue issues that plagued Apex 2015 last weekend took up much of the early event coverage, Saturday’s Salty Suite exhibitions firmly placed the spotlight back on competition. These show matches provided a spectacle worthy of such a large-scale tournament, bringing together players from various Smash eras to prove they had what it took to overcome their opponents.
Apart from the rematch between Evo 2014 top eight participants MOR|Axe and GC|SilentWolf and the blast from the past pairing of Liquid|Ken and PC Chris, the marquee matchup was definitely between old-school competitor Liquid|Chillindude and relative newcomer Leffen.
With the release of a rather unfortunate diss track and handfuls of trashtalking in the months leading up to Apex, there was certainly no love lost between these two competitors. Monetary compensation was low, but the loser ran the risk of losing their right to use Fox’s default color in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Important stuff!
What followed, well…let’s say it wasn’t pretty for the returning veteran.
