One of the biggest surprises of the 2013 Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Unlimited Global Championship was the then 12-year-old competitor from the Philippines, Alexandre “AK” Lavarez, who came out of seemingly nowhere to take third place at the event. Now, as part of their twentieth anniversary celebration, Bandai Namco Games’ official Tekken Channel has released a video that takes a close look at the young player.

In the video, AK shares details about about his history with the game (starting when he was just 4 years old) as well as his daily routine. Additionally, top Japanese Tekken players such as Gen, Tanukana, and Nobi give their own impressions about AK’s playstyle.

Of course, at the very end, series producer Katsuhiro Harada asks the big question – why does AK play Tekken? Check out the video below to hear his answer.
