Dissidia Final Fantasy Moving from Handhelds to Arcades

During their visit to Japan Amusement Expo 2015, Square Enix announced that they will be bringing their Final Fantasy arena fighter, Dissidia Final Fantasy, to arcades.

Originally released on PlayStation Portable back in 2008, Dissidia takes familiar characters from multiple installments of the popular roleplaying franchise and places them in a 3D, over-the-shoulder system similar to the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm or Mobile Suit Gundam: Extereme Vs. series.

The new arcade version counts as the third such release and brings with it some changes, including a new three-on-three battle system and additional characters, including Y’shtola from Final Fantasy XIV.

The release date for this title is still unknown, but Square Enix will be holding a special presentation on April 10 where they will reveal more details.

In the meantime, check out the reveal trailer below.
