General: Unreal Engine Goes Free For All
Epic has announced that the Unreal Engine will now be available free to all developers. Previously, use of the Unreal Engine cost developers $19.00 per month and a 5% royalty above $3000 per month. Epic is still asking developers to contribute 5%, though the engine itself remains free.
Dead or Alive 5 Last Round’s Latest Patch Adds Arcade Stick Compatibility on Xbox One
When Dead or Alive 5 Last Round launched a couple of weeks ago, players on Microsoft platforms faced a number of issues, and Team NINJA released a brand new patch over the weekend to correct these problem.
While the update addresses a bug that corrupted save data when certain training stages were played with a handful of languages enabled, the most important of its fixes adds arcade stick compatibility to the Xbox One version.
In addition to the above, the patch also allows players to enter a code (by pressing LB+RT+LT+RT in the Help and Options menu) to unlock content, which should be a boon for those who already lost their saved games.
Dead or Alive 5 Last Round’s 1.01A patch is now available on Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Camelot Unchained: No Excuses, No Reasons But Alpha Delayed
The Camelot Unchained alpha did not begin as expected, despite the best efforts of the development team throughout the weekend. In a lengthy letter to the Camelot Unchained community, Mark Jacobs promised the community remuneration in the form of free subscription days, CSE points and Founder’s Points. Jacobs further informed fans that alpha is likely only to be delayed a short time to solve some pesky client crash issues, though all other systems seemed to be working as intended.

General: “Gateway” to Allow Cross-Game Transfer
Tactical Simulations Interactive (TSI) has announced its new cross-RPG initiative called "Gateway" that will allow players to transfer characters between supported games. The team is rolling out Gateway with its first RPG called Seven Dragon Saga. As other game developers join the Gateway initiative, players will be allowed to move their favorite characters between games to "continue their relationships" with them.
Mortal Kombat X Coming to Mobile Devices as Card Battler
Much like its predecessor Injustice: Gods Among Us, the upcoming Mortal Kombat X is set to receive a port that will put a unique form of its gameplay on iOS and Android.
Instead of a straight-up brawler, Mortal Kombat X on mobile devices functions more as a card battler, though the details of how the series’ iconically bloody fights will play out have yet to be revealed.
Aside from the card collecting, however, it was also revealed that this port will connect with Mortal Kombat X on home platforms to unlock content as milestones are met, similar to Injustice.
Mortal Kombat X is scheduled to launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on April 14. The mobile version will also be available sometime that month.
