Izaw Highlights Kirby in Latest Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Guide

In his latest “Art Of” video, Link mastermind Izaw offers up tips on how to play Super Smash Bros. for Wii U’s Kirby, the hero of Dreamland. The tutorial begins with a lengthy segment dedicated to the pink powerhouse’s combo options and moves on to explore his various methods of breaking shields as well as getting the most out of his throws.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Kirby tutorial without a section dedicated to applications for Kirby’s ability to steal his opponents special attacks. Izaw covers this at length, showing not only how Kirby can use most of these attacks to compliment his existing moves, but also which characters can punish him for stealing their power.

General: Star Wars Galaxies’ Under-Performance

During the last few weeks, the most thought-provoking MMOG-related thing that came to my attention may have been this post by veteran developer Gordon Walton about the role he played in the memorable (for most, not in a good way) Star Wars Galaxies New Game Enhancements (NGE). What he wrote led me to think again about what I stated late last year when I listed the SOE / LucasArts title among 5 MMOGs That Seriously Disappointed Me.

TOPANGA’s Ultra Street Fighter IV Competition Going Global with Second World League

In 2013, TOPANGA hosted its first international Street Fighter IV event TOPANGA ASIA LEAGUE, then upped the scale the following year with WORLD LEAGUE. It’s time to go global, again, with TOPANGA WORLD LEAGUE 2, set for April 9-12.

This Ultra Street Fighter IV round-robin event will feature nine of the best Street Fighter players in the world. Four are from Japan, consisting of the top finishers of last year’s TOPANGA LEAGUE 4, with the remaining five representing the tip-top of North America, Europe and the rest of Asia. Evo champions, Capcom Cup champions, rising stars, legends, they’re all there. Who are the nine? Take a look below!

This year the format has been revised to more closely mirror a Western format. While WORLD LEAGUE 2 keeps the two-character limit of recent League events, all matches are now first-to-five games, with the losing player allowed to switch characters after each game.

As with previous TOPANGA LEAGUE events, WORLD LEAGUE 2 will be a pay-per-view event, streamed on Niconico Live. Individual day net tickets can be purchased for 1500 Niconico points (equivalent to 1500 yen or, ~12.50 USD) or the four-day net ticket can be purchased for 3500 Niconico points (~29.15 USD).
