Ultra Street Fighter IV at Evo 2015 Officially Returns to Xbox 360
After a less than optimal Ultra Street Fighter IV launch on PlayStation 4 earlier this week, fans were worried about what this meant for competition on the Capcom Pro Tour, namely at Evo 2015 and Community Effort Orlando 2015. Fortunately, Capcom stepped forward and removed the aforementioned event’s obligations to run their brackets through the lackluster port, stating that tournaments were now free to revert back to their region’s standard platform.
While hints of a change were made before this announcement, Evo organizer Joey “Mr. Wizard” Cuellar came out today to officially announce that Ultra Street Fighter IV competition at this year’s event will return to Xbox 360. When asked if another decision would be made should the PlayStation 4 version be optimized, he confirmed that players can expect no further platform changes.
As the largest fighting game tournament in the world, Evo’s return to Xbox 360, the previously recognized community standard, should definitely ease some of the worries competitors had as we near the event. With an extra $50,000 and the bundle of ranking points courtesy of Capcom Pro Tour, it’s great to see this rather important obstacle overcome.

GODSGARDEN #10 Coming in June, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- and BlazBlue: Chronophantasma EXTEND Chosen as Main Titles
It’s been around a year and a half since GODSGARDEN last hosted a numbered entry in its eponymous tournament series. You might have forgotten the series even existed, but rest assured, GODSGARDEN is still alive and, for the first time, will feature not just one main event, but two!
Yesterday on GODSGARDEN’s weekly KaoTV! broadcast, co-founder and former Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike legend Soushihan KSK announced GODSGARDEN #10, with Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- and BlazBlue: Chronophantasma EXTEND as the main titles. It’s not just coincidence that two Arc System Works titles were selected for competition, as GODS#10 will serve as a ARC REVOLUTION CUP 2015 qualifier, giving the champions of each game a spot in Arc’s official tournament on August 15.
As is tradition with the GODSGARDEN series, the player fan vote will be making its return. The top two vote receivers for each title will be allowed to skip the preliminary rounds and move straight to the eight-player finals tournament bracket. Details for the vote are still being set, but keep an eye out in the near future for the start of the voting period.
GODSGARDEN #10 is scheduled for June 27 and 28 at the Akihabara Cafe&Bar SIXTEEN in Tokyo.
