Mortal Kombat X, like any other fighting title, requires the proper application of mixups in order to secure wins against skilled opponents. With some characters, figuring out the best way to crack someone’s defenses is easy; with others, it can be a little more difficult.

In his newest Mortal Kombat X strategy video, Sajam explores Johnny Cage’s options for doing just that. He begins by asking a simple question: why would you ever block low against a character like Johnny who gets so much damage from landing an overhead? Sajam goes on to show a handful of options beyond this overhead hit that will keep opponents guessing, and hopefully allow Johnny to go for the big damage when it matters the most.

While this information may seem obvious to some of our readers, the video will hopefully assist newcomers who may be struggling with exactly this sort of issue.

As his handle suggests, NT|Mr. Wright is perhaps best known for his Phoenix Wright play in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. His innovative approach to the courtroom combatant resulted in plenty of videos including, but certainly not limited to, an impressive display of meterless, non-X-factor combos that top out over one million damage each. To say that he knows his way around a gavel would be a bit of an understatement.

But it seems that Mr. Wright has temporarily traded in the gavel for a baseball bat to deliver a different kind of justice. In the video below, Mr. Wright’s Ness hits the mean streets of Smashville to show off his skills through an impressive display of PK Thunder mind games, jab lock combos, and everything else we’ve come to expect from Smash exhibitions.
