Street Fighter V Currently Matches Street Fighter IV’s General Pace, Desk Offers Speed Comparison
Ever since it was revealed last year, Street Fighter V has been saddled with complaints regarding its speed, and it’s fairly easy to see why. Though recent gameplay footage appears to show some added pep in its step, the first glimpses showed a title that seemed to be slower than its predecessors, with an added weight that set it apart from the Street Fighter IV series.
In order to give fans an easier way to see how they stack up, Desk has put together a great side-by-side comparison of new Street Fighter V footage and gameplay from Street Fighter IV, reproducing situations to the best of his ability for a look at their general pacing.
His demonstration shows that Street Fighter V may be every bit as fast as Street Fighter IV, and may possibly edge it out in situations like throw-teching. Of course, it would be a little silly to draw conclusions at this point with development still ongoing and relatively little footage to go off, but this definitely serves as a good starting point for discussion.

Modder Brings Alex to Life in Ultra Street Fighter IV
Whether they’re creating their own UI elements, digging through files to make the unplayable playable, or any number of other things, the creativity of modders within the gaming community never ceases to amaze. Recently, a modder by the name of PFunkk flexed their creative muscles and produced a version of Street Fighter III’s Alex, which they then plopped right into Ultra Street Fighter IV in place of Abel.
It’s important to note that while this is a model replacement for Abel, it’s not simply a haphazard reskinning of the French fighter–far from it. The model for Alex was painstakingly built from the ground up, a process that you can see unfold through a vast number of screenshots included in this gallery. Sadly, the nature of this mod prevents Alex from unleashing any of the attacks that he’s known for performing, but Abel’s moves don’t look too out of place on him.
The video that we’ve embedded below shows the skin in action by way of an Alex mirror match tied together with a soundtrack right out of Street Fighter III.
