The initial Capcom Cup scheduling announcement may have been exciting for may members of the fighting game community, but it carried with it some poor consequences for others, namely those on the east coast. Due to its new affiliation with PlayStation Experience, this year’s Capcom Cup has landed on December 6, coinciding with Northeast Championships 16’s own finals day.

While obviously not a malicious move on Capcom’s part, this issue created a murmur throughout the scene regarding how this would affect Northeast Championships, so much so that organizer Eric “Big E” Small is contemplating shifting the dates of his event to bypass the conflict.

According to a recent Facebook post, Small is looking at the weekends of November 27 (right after Thanksgiving) and December 11 as possible backups, but wants feedback from the community before making a final decision. “Please keep it [real],” he mentions in the quick message. “I’m asking everyone cause you guys and girls make my events happen.”
