Shano Explores Hit-Confirm Windows and Kara Throws in Street Fighter V
As more players get their hands on Street Fighter V, the amount of discoveries–both tech-related and otherwise–for the forthcoming title understandably increases.
Shano recently shared some of their findings with the world by producing the following two videos. This first demonstrates just how realistic single button hit confirmations look to be in Street Fighter V. While the video only shows footage of Ryu and Cammy waiting it out to perform a follow-up attack, we can likely expect similar windows fro the rest of the cast as well.
The second video is dedicated to the kara throw range of four members of the cast. As you’ll see, Ryu and Nash don’t gain much of an extension to their effective throw range through this technique, but the added distance is definitely still there. Chun-Li looks to gain slightly more than the previous two, but Cammy’s the one who truly shines.
If you’re excited to give these discoveries a try (and if you live in North or South America) be sure to check out the Street Fighter V stress test tomorrow from 4 PM PDT until 12 AM PDT.

See How Street Fighter V’s Crossup Detection System and Move Lists Have Changed in Most Recent Build
With the game still in beta, it’s expected that Street Fighter V will still see plenty of changes before it hits digital and physical shelves next year. One of the ways where this can be seen is with the game’s crossup detection system.
Street Fighter V has a system that clearly indicates when a move has crossed an opponent up; however, in the beta build of the game, there are some situations in which that indicator did not appear.
In the first video below, Burnout Fighter demonstrates both this issue and, more importantly, how this has been fixed in the latest playable build shown at Gamescom earlier this month.
But that’s not the only chunk of information surrounding Street Fighter V changes that Burnout Fighter brings to the masses. In this second video, he discusses some tweaks some characters–specifically Ryu–have seen when it comes to the attacks that they bring to the fight. These changes range from input methods to the actual effects of the moves themselves, and can be seen through potential changes to Ryu’s invulnerability (or lack thereof) on his Shoryuken, among other things.
Much of the information provided comes from a recent Couch Warriors gathering that Burnout Fighter spent with the current build of the game. Since this was a public event, he wasn’t able to break things down quite as much as he would have liked. With that in mind, some of these cursory observations are just that–cursory.
At any rate, these alterations give us an idea of the sort of things that we can expect from the game in the future.
