Fan Calculates Strength of Superman’s ‘Kryptonian Crush’ in Injustice: Gods Among Us

Superman is powerful. That’s just one of those things that people know. But how powerful is the Man of Steel in the Injustice: Gods Among Us universe? NetherRealm Studios’ creative director Ed Boon tweeted last week that a player took the time to figure out just that. Their conclusion, which they based on the Kryptonian Crush attack, reveals the following:

Superman punches his opponent a whole 126 km into the sky! How powerful is that? Well it depends on the mass of the opponent…comicvine gives Darkseid a weight of 1815 lbs, which I will use. Energy-wise, that means Superman delivered 1.02E10 Joules of energy into that punch. In better terms, that’s 2.43 tons of TNT.

I’m not going to sit here and pretend that I double checked the math, because that’d be about as effective as me trying to survive one of these punches myself. If you fancy yourself a math whiz and wish to contest the data, you can find the calculations here.

Additionally, some may be quick to note that Darkseid, the character whose weight plays a role in determining the final result, does not appear in the console version of Injustice. The villain does, however, make an appearance in the mobile version of the game, wherein Supes can still deliver the same devastating blow.

Expand Your Dead or Alive 5 Last Round Wardrobe with These Falcom Crossover Costumes

If you’re looking to expand your Dead or Alive 5 Last Round wardrobe, you’ll be pleased to learn that the game’s cast is soon to receive a slew of new outfits. These duds draw inspiration from a number of intellectual properties created by the Nihon Falcom Corporation, including The Legend of Heroes, Ys Origin, and more.

These costumes are set to become available tomorrow, September 15, though the Xbox One can currently be purchased for $2.99 each or as a complete $33.99 set.

Our source, which lists prices in Japanese yen, suggests that these may be slightly higher price tags than the costumes will see on PlayStation 4, but USD pricing outside of the Xbox One version is not available as of this writing. Of course, if you’ve already purchased Season Pass 2 (PS4) or the New Costume Pass 2 (Xbox One), you’ll be receiving these outfits as part of those packages.

We’ve included the official trailer for these costumes, as well as an image gallery, below.

Capcom Pro Tour Visits Kuwait’s KO Fighting Game Festival Next Week

As the Middle East continues to put its mark in the world of fighting games, WhiteTowerQ8 Arcade of Kuwait is bringing back its first major tournament, KO Fighting Game Festival, for a second year. The inaugural installment took place in 2013 and was host to some of the biggest names in Street Fighter, including MCZ|Daigo Umehara, MCZ|Tokido, MCZ|Mago, RZR|Xian, EG|Justin Wong, and FA|Ryan Hart, to name a few.

This year, the event returns not only as a part of the Capcom Pro Tour, but is also designated as a premier event, meaning the winner of the Ultra Street Fighter IV tournament will claim a much-coveted spot in the Capcom Cup finals in December. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will also be featured in the event’s official lineup.

Street Fighter V associate producer Peter “Combofiend” Rosas will be bringing the latest build of the upcoming fighter, which will likely include newcomer Rashid, the Middle Eastern fighter Capcom unveiled at GAMES15 last week.

KO Fighting Game Festival 2015 is scheduled for September 24-25 at the Kuwait International Fair in Mishref. If you’re in the area and interested in attending, you can sign up for Street Fighter and Tekken via Challonge.
