Mortal Kombat X has garnered a reputation as a very offense-based fighter, where it’s often better to be on the attack than sitting back and holding block. However, a new discovery for Takeda’s Ronin variation takes that to ridiculous levels.
In the videos below, Yomi Gaming’s REO demonstrates that by repeating a specific set of strings, Takeda can force his opponents to keep blocking forever unless they have a poke that’s faster than 8 frames. This means characters such as Erron Black, Kenshi, Kitana, Jason, Johnny Cage, and even Takeda himself are out of luck against the technique.
While this may have been possible before the most recent patch, its changes likely made the infinite much easier to pull off. As of now, there’s a lot of discussion surrounding what can be done to escape this as well as if the technique should be banned in tournaments, so be sure to visit Test Your Might if you want to provide your opinion.
