This Tuesday, Japan is giving a bit of classic action with King of Wolves ~Premium Round~. The event will feature 2on2 team tournaments for The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match and Street Fighter III 3rd Strike. Each tournament features a list if invite teams along with a qualifier to fill out the 16-team bracket.

Mad Catz’ Tokyo Game Show tournaments regularly feature some of the best Street Fighter players around, and recent years have seen surprising competitors come out on top. Last year, Fukuoka Gamers Club’s Pepeday shocked the world with his incredible El Fuerte play, and this past weekend another unexpected figure took home the gold.

After dropping to TOPANGA’s B League with a disappointing showing in 2014, Dashio has completely obliterated the early rounds of this year’s competition. His record currently stands at 7-2 thanks to impressive wins against -6, Kawaguchi, YUBIKEN teammate Shiro, and more, giving him quite a hot streak coming into the stacked Tokyo Game Show bracket.

With players like Red Bull’s Bonchan, Infiltration, and GamerBee of AVerMedia also competing, Dashio obviously had quite a hill to climb, but climb he did. Both Infiltration and GamerBee would fall to his intimidating Seth in clean sweeps, and even though Bonchan would put up a much better fight (which included a grand finals reset), he too was added to the list of victims.
