Pick Up Some Advanced Out of Shield Options in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Proper defensive techniques play a major role in securing victory in every fighting game, and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is no exception. Though it’s shield button seems simple enough, there are actually tons of options players hunkering down behind those bright bubbles have at their disposal. Some, like dodge rolling, spot dodging, jumping, and grabbing require no real knowledge of game systems in order to use at least to some degree of success, but those are far from the only options that players have.

In their latest video, AceStarThe3rd discusses the more advanced ways to drop shield, including out of shield up smash and out of shield up special. As explained in the video, these two options take advantage of pre-jump frames to drop shield. If timed correctly, players can go from a defensive posture to an offensive one in a matter of just a couple of frames.

For a full breakdown on how to perform these attacks as well as some potential uses, be sure to check out the video below.

Help YUBIKEN Send KichijojiKEN and Super Santarou Man to Street Grand Battle in France

YUBIKEN has been one of the biggest contributors to the Ultra Street Fighter IV scene as of late. Not only do they produce great videos and regular streams, but they’ve also sent a good number of players abroad to compete.

Now, the Japanese organization wants to fly one of its best players, KichijojiKEN, to the upcoming Street Grand Battle in Lyon, France. Not only does Kichiken want to compete, but he also believes that, if an exhibition match were ever organized between them, he would handily beat Evo 2014 champion Luffy.

Unfortunately, the funds just aren’t there. As such, YUBIKEN is turning to the community for help, and is looking to raise €2,000 for the trip.

If the campaign’s goals are reached, not only will Kichiken fly to France, but YUBIKEN’s “Luffy killer” Super Santarou Man will also tag along in order to give Luffy a chance at a runback after his loss during their exhibition at Evo. However, to earn the chance for the rematch, Luffy must defeat Kichiken first.

But all of this will only happen if YUBIKEN reaches their funding goal. If you feel like helping, you’ll find all the details you need on the campaign page. They sit at €300 at the time of publishing.

Street Grand Battle 2015 is scheduled for November 21-22.  For more information on the event, be sure to check out their official website as well as the trailer we’ve included below.
