After making its first tournament appearance last month, Rising Thunder will be moving from local to major competition courtesy of SoCal Regionals. Developer Radiant Entertainment has invited four competitors to take part in a special double-elimination bracket with $1000 up for grabs.
Panda Global’s Ryan “Filipino Champ” Ramirez, Jonathan “Rico Suave” Deleon, Reynald Tacsuan of Arcade Shock, and John “Argenrost” Martin come from various fighting game backgrounds, but all of them have one thing in common: they are previous Evo champions, with knowledge of what it takes to perform under the harsh spotlight of a high-level stage. If you’ve been curious about Rising Thunder but haven’t taken the opportunity to try it out, this should be the perfect time to see what the game looks like in the hands of competent players.
This event is scheduled to take place Friday, October 9, around 8 PM PDT, 11 PM EDT. It will be broadcast live on Twitch, so be sure to tune in if you can’t make it to the event in person.
