Valmaster: Street Fighter V feels too easy to learn, too rigid
During their visit to KAKUTOP League III this past weekend, the folks at Figaro Gaming House were able to put together quick interviews with three competitors: Team YP’s Valmaster, Luffy of MeltDown, and Falcon Arena’s Ryan Hart. Their discussion centered around the competition itself as well as each player’s thoughts on Street Fighter V.
While the feedback concerning Street Fighter V has generally been pretty positive, Valmaster provided a unique take from his time with the upcoming title. “Street Fighter V is more [laidback], there is not much madness,” the French player explained. “That’s what bothers me a bit: too easy to learn, too rigid. I hope we’re not going to get bored four months after the game’s release.”
Luffy and Hart were a little more magnanimous, the former in particular saying that we should give Capcom some time and see what they come up with in Street Fighter V. For what it’s worth, Valmaster acknowledges that he hasn’t spent a ton of time with the game, and still likes what he’s seen so far.
Be sure to check out the full interview below for more of their conversation with Figaro Gaming House.
