One of the more contentious things about SNK Playmore’s King of Fighters XIV is the quality of the game’s graphics. While it doesn’t exactly look like a PlayStation 1 game, as some hyperbolic comments would have you believe, the visuals shown thus far have been rather lacking.

The developers have been quick to respond to such comments, releasing screenshots in an attempt to show the game in a better light and tweaking the graphics as they continue to work on the game.

Similar to their previous video, ATRyoSakazaki recently explored how King of Fighters XIV’s graphics have improved between the second and third trailers. While subtle, the comparison shows that SNK Playmore has made improvements to the models and texture of Kyo, Iori, and Leona, added animations to the previously stiff hair and clothing, and improved the ambient lighting on the stages.

We’ll get to see more of the King of Fighters XIV and any further graphical changes when it makes its playable debut at the PlayStation Experience next week.

ESL’s Mortal Kombat X competition returns for another installment of its second season. Similar to the previous season, the first few rounds of this online tournament have narrowed the playing field down to eight competitors in each region, who will be going at each other’s throats today to earn their way towards the grand finals event next year and its $100,000 prize pool.
