Hold Back to Block’s ‘FGC: Rise of the Fighting Game Community’ Documentary Premieres January 12

After finding success funding the project on Kickstarter, Hold Back to Block’s Esteban Martinez has spent the last two year’s crafting FGC: Rise of the Fighting Game Community, a documentary that highlights everything we love about our scene. Numerous teases have been dropped along the way, but now we have a release date: January 12.

Those who wish to check this out can do so by two methods, both of which will be provided through VHX. The first is a three-day streaming rental for $4, and the second is a full purchase for $10. The latter provides both downloadable and streaming versions of the film as well as bonus content not included in the rental.

MechWarrior Online: Steam Launch Day Ahoy!

MechWarriors! Ready, steady, GO! Piranha Studios has announced that MechWarrior Online is now available on Steam. To prepare for today, lots of big improvements have been made and the new “Faction Play” feature called Community Warfare is now part of the core game.

Combofiend Takes Street Fighter V’s F.A.N.G for a Spin Against Mike Ross

While this past weekend saw Capcom reveal Street Fighter V’s final launch character F.A.N.G at PlayStation Experience, very little gameplay footage was provided for players hoping to see what he brings to the table.

In this new video from IGN, associate producer Peter “Combofiend” Rosas takes Shadaloo’s new second-in-command for a spin against Twitch’s Mike Ross. Aside from giving us a glimpse of what this crazy new character can do, this match is also significant for taking place almost one year after these two provided the first live Street Fighter V match at Capcom Cup 2014.

Will Combofiend’s insider knowledge and familiarity with F.A.N.G give him the win, or will Mike slip past his opponent’s poisonous grasp to finally claim victory? Watch the video below to find out, and be sure to stay until the end as both players break down their matches.
