Shoryuken Poll: Who is Your Favorite Street Fighter V Newcomer?

Thanks to today’s F.A.N.G announcement, we now have a clear picture of the cast Street Fighter V will launch with in February, a quarter of which is made up of entirely new characters. By now, fighters like Rufus, El Fuerte, and Hakan have become household names, but it will take some time to see how these fresh faces endear themselves to the community.

We here at Shoryuken thought it would be fun to gauge early reactions by asking our readers a simple question: which of the newcomers do you like the most? At this point in time, all but F.A.N.G have been playable at some point, but aesthetics can obviously play a huge part in choosing a favorite for folks who haven’t been able to try them out, and it should be interesting to see how the strange Shadaloo operative stacks up against Necalli, Rashid, and Laura.

Feel free to take part in the quick poll below, and visit the comments to share the reasoning behind your choice.

Early King of Fighters XIV Gameplay Footage Surfaces from PlayStation Experience

PlayStation Experience is a lot of things to a lot of people, but one of the most noteworthy products being demoed on the showfloor is the first playable build of King of Fighters XIV. And thanks to the prevalence of smartphones, we now have some of the earliest footage of gameplay outside the trailers.

In the videos below, attendees try their best to put on a good fight while learning characters like Kyo Kusanagi, Leona Heidern, Iori Yagami, Chang Koehan, and Kula Diamond.

Apart from gameplay, there’s also a number of images floating around of movelists, both general and character-specific. As of now, little concrete information is available as to how these mechanics work, but we’ll have more on the finer aspects of King of Fighters XIV as the convention continues.

King of Fighters XIV will arrive on PlayStation 4 sometime in 2016.
