Killer Instinct’s First Season Free for Xbox Live Gold Subscribers in January

Here’s some great news for any fighting game fans who might be getting a Xbox One or Xbox Live Gold from Santa this Christmas: Killer Instinct’s first season will be free download for Gold subscribers during the entire month of January.

Developed by Double Helix Games in conjunction with Microsoft Studios, season one gives players access to classic character like Jago, Sabrewulf, Glacius, Thunder, Spinal, Orchid, and Fulgore, as well as newcomer Sadira and all the updates that have been released thus far. While there’s since been a whole new round of content released by Iron Galaxy Studios, this should form a good foundation to decide if you want more.

Killer Instinct currently available on Xbox One, with a third season in development.

Rock Out to These Extended Stage Themes from Street Fighter V

While we’ve heard a lot about the new character themes in Street Fighter V, we haven’t heard so much about the game’s stage themes, which are pretty rockin’ in their own right. Vesper Arcade’s most recent uploads address this oversight, sharing extended versions for Apprentice Alley and Underground Arena from the most recent beta.

The former carries the same guitar heavy vibe as most of the game’s other themes but does so in a way that sounds very representative of the region it depicts, like something you’d hear played on a sitar. The latter, on the other hand, goes for a more electronic sound, fitting the stage’s underground club theme.

For more, ADAPT Chance previously shared the Hillside Plaza and main menu themes.

Street Fighter V launches on PlayStation 4 and PC on February 16.
