Cloud Strife Makes His Way to Super Smash Bros. Later Today
After a month of letting Cloud Strife’s upcoming inclusion in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS weigh on the minds of players, Nintendo has finally announced a release date for the materia master. It’s today, actually. Of course, you do have to purchase him before you can start swinging yet another sword at your enemies, but we already knew that.
As with previous DLC for the current version of Smash, players can pick up the new character for each individual console (Wii U and 3DS) or as a double pack, which includes the content for both systems at a discount.

Fire Emblem Fates’ Corrin, Bayonetta Join Super Smash Bros. Cast in February
Just moments ago, Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai took to the stage for the final Nintendo Direct dedicated to the fighter. Though this is the final Super Smash Bros. 4 video presentation, that doesn’t mean they skimped on news. In addition to discussing details surrounding Cloud Strife, Sakurai was pleased to reveal that Corrin, the main character of Fire Emblem: Fates, will also be joining the cast.
Much like Robin and Wii Fit trainer, players can choose to play as a male or female version of the protagonist, both of whom perform exactly the same. Though Corrin does wield a sword, they aren’t purely another “swordsman.” In addition to swinging their blade, Corrin can turn into a dragon, or transform portions of their body in order perform powerful attacks with dragon-y appendages.
UPDATE – But that’s not all! Bayonetta from the franchise of the same name will also be joining the cast. She brings to the table unique abilities based on her Witch Time mechanics, and will sport outfits from both games in the series.
Players can look forward to picking up Corrin and Bayonetta in February.
