Here’s Alex! Capcom Shares Concept Art of Street Fighter V’s First Downloadable Character

While it’s not quite the gameplay we were hoping for, Capcom shared concept art for Alex, the Street Fighter III veteran who will serve as the first of Street Fighter V’s downloadable characters. Like much of the art in the game, this design was created by famed Capcom collaborator Bengus.

In the gallery below, you’ll see how Alex’s look has changed, starting with Street Fighter III, moving onto his appearance in Street Fighter V’s City in Chaos stage, and ending with the aforementioned concept art.

Street Fighter V is set to launch for PlayStation 4 and PC on next Tuesday, February 16. Alex will be available sometime in March, with Guile, Juri, Ibuki, and Urien joining the game at regular intervals through the year.

Capcom Offers Up Street Fighter V Introductions for F.A.N.G, Necalli, and More

If you’re looking to familiarize yourself with the basic mechanics of the Street Fighter V roster, Capcom’s series of character introduction videos offer a good starting point. With voice-over work from UK community manager Matt Edwards, these videos provide a look at general character background, tactics, and how V-Skills play out for each highlighted fighter.

Below, you’ll find the most recent round of videos from this series and, though the camera has rarely caught sightings of the elusive F.A.N.G in the wild, Capcom has offered up one such installment featuring the series newcomer.

Learn How to Handle Corrin in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

The final batch of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U content just wouldn’t have felt right without another new sword to swing. And while you’ve likely done your fair share of slashing prior to playing Corrin, the Fire Emblem protagonist does have a rather unique approach to the swordsman archetype.
