Momochi Talks Ryu Basics in Latest Street Fighter V Tutorial
With general system mechanics out of the way, it only makes sense for Evil Geniuses’ Momochi to spend his second Street Fighter V tutorial discussing Ryu.
In the video below, Momochi speaks to the traditional Ryu style and how that hasn’t changed all that much in Street Fighter V. This includes insights into how a lack of focus attacks has improved the strength of projectiles, how button strength affects projectile properties, how to apply the ever popular crouching forward, and much more. Normals, optimal crush counter combos, anti-airing options, and other necessary information make the cut as well.
And it wouldn’t be a Street Fighter V tutorial without a look into Ryu’s V-Skill, including tips on when to attempt a parry and when such a defensive option is impossible. As with all videos of this nature, those spending more time combating Ryu than playing him can also expect to learn a thing or two about the fighter when he finds himself in disadvantageous situations.
