While SNK Playmore has shown off King of Fighters XIV at conventions across the globe, the upcoming title will be put through its first round of legitimate competition at KVO x TSB 2016 next month. Fortunately, the developers plan to dramatically increase the number of playable characters.

According to a recent tweet, the build SNK is taking to Japan will feature a roster of over 20 fighters, a far cry from the small handful that have been on display the past few months. To date, 26 cast members have been revealed, which means a good deal of those characters (if not all) should be playable at the event.

King of Fighters XIV is scheduled to launch for PlayStation 4 sometime this year. Be sure to watch KVO x TSB 2016 the weekend of April 29 to see some of its earliest tournament play.
