Critical Flinch Explores Pokkén Tournament’s Tekken-Inspired Moves
When The Pokémon Company set out to make Pokkén Tournament, they went to the experts at Bandai Namco Entertainment for help in fleshing out their unique fighting game.
Given this relationship, it should come as no surprise that a decent amount of moves in Pokkén Tournament are directly inspired by those seen in Tekken. Critical Flinch points out most of these Tekken homages in their new video.
These inspirations range from Pikachu sporting a wide range of Mishima-exclusive techniques to Blaziken’s mashup of moves from Law, Bruce, and Alisa. There’s even a bit of Soulcalibur thrown in for good measure.
