K-Brad Discusses Justin Wong’s Dominance, Input Delay and More in Best of III

Straight from DreamHack Austin, Evil Geniuses’ Kenneth “K-Brad” Bradley stopped back by the Best of III studio to share some thoughts on his teammate Justin Wong’s dominance in the US scene, as well as the issue of input delay currently plaguing Street Fighter V.

On the former, K-Brad states that Wong is the best player in the US at the moment. This status is something that he feels his teammate will be holding on to for at least the next few months.

As for the issue of input delay on the PlayStation 4 version of Street Fighter V, K-Brad states that he isn’t too worried about it right now, and feels that we should just view it as part of the game. He goes on to state that “[he] never once felt that [he] couldn’t do something because of lag.”

REO’s New Mortal Kombat XL Tutorial Series Begins with a Health Bar Breakdown

With the many updates to Mortal Kombat XL, the NetherRealm Studios title is once again seeing new players coming in to give it a go. To help these new players out, YOMI’s REO has started a new tutorial series that focuses on the basics of the game.

In the first episode, REO talks about one of the most basic elements of the game’s interface: the health bar.

While MKXL’s health bar seems to be just the same as those appearing in any other fighter, REO points out the fact that it actually has notches that help give a player a better idea of exactly how much health they and their opponent have left. Understanding this aspect of the health bar can give players a better idea of what combos they need to land, as well as the sorts of risks they should be taking, in order to secure a victory.

Wizard101: Unlocking the Darkness

After battling through the Eclipse Tower in Khrysalis, Wizard101 players can potentially unleash their inner darkness by training shadow spells. Shadow magic is supposedly the most unstable and difficult magic to control. In fact, Bartleby and Grandmother Raven urged Merle Ambrose to stay far away from it. Luckily, rebellious wizard is my middle name.

Watch All 23 Street Fighter V Critical Arts at Once in desk’s New Video

The latest video offering from combo virtuoso desk is short and sweet: it features every character in Street Fighter V performing their Critical Art at the same time on a (very) unfortunate Cammy. Desk grants extra slots for those characters possessing a V-Triggered variant Critical Art–Ryu, Necalli, Alex, and Guile–and both the ground and aerial Yoga Sunburst, bringing the total Critical Art count to twenty-three.

This is apparently desk’s first foray into 4K video, so those with compatible displays can see Cammy get blown up with that much greater fidelity. You can see some prior (and more substantial) combo demonstrations by desk here and here.

Circa eSports Signs Hoa “Anakin” Luu as First Tekken Player

Just two weeks after signing Street Fighter V player LPN, Cica eSports has added another fighting game representative to their growing roster.  This time, they’ve ventured into the 3D subgenre by acquiring Hoa “Anakin” Luu, one of Atlanta’s top Tekken players.  Known for his signature Jack play, Anakin placed 1st at Final Round XV for Tekken 6, 1st at Kumite In Tennessee 14, 1st at CEO 2014, and 5th at Evolution 2014 for Tekken Tag Tournament 2, among numerous other achievements.

With Tekken 7 Fated Retribution being part of the main lineup at this year’s Evo, as well as a forthcoming console release, there is no doubt that Anakin will be looking to make quite an impact in the future.

You can see the official announcement Tweets below:

We here at Shoryuken would like to congratulate both parties, and we hope to see Anakin at more events in the future!
