Watch FujiONE’s Televised Japanese Pokkén Tournament feat. Sako, GO-1, Azazel, and More

“Lipso Saturday Night Fight,” an eSports program in Japan, recently ran an 8-player invitational event for Pokkén Tournament. Airing on the sports/variety station FujiONE, the tournament featured strong players from across Japan, including:

Saku (Shadow Mewtwo), tonosama (Braixen), Shiruo (Charizard), GO1 (Shadow Mewtwo), crowd (Pikachu Libre), Azazel (Machamp), Iibuu (Blaziken), Sako (Gengar)

There’s no chaff among these eight (as far as we can see–Saku vs. Tonosama was played off stream before they went live) each fight is an uphill battle for both sides. Of particular note is the down-to-the-wire grand finals, the neck and neck score for which is settled in an explosive finish.

The event, advertised and orchestrated closely with Nintendo as an official event, brought together players and commentators from across the Japanese gaming landscape, including LoL, SFV, and, of course, Pokkén.

Rashid as the Flash, Laura as ‘Blana’: Sparks Fly in These Street Fighter V PC Mods

Racing in just as hype for Injustice 2 is on the rise, TheJamk has provided a mod for the PC version of Street Fighter V that brings DC Comics’ Flash into the fray. It’s a costume mod for Rashid, similar to Cammy’s Spider-Gwen mod. Check out how Rashid’s flashy moves suit the Scarlet Speedster in this new video.

While it’s easy to dismiss the name “Blana” as a typo of the name we’ve associated with electrifying Brazilian fighting skills for more than two decades, this next mod–for Laura–is anything but an error. If you’ve kept up with the steady stream of concept art coming from Capcom, you’ll likely recognize the source material for the mod, which sees Laura turn more than a bit bestial.

Aside from that little walk on the wild side, if you wondered what Laura would look like in the roles of the other Street Fighter V cast, wonder no longer: this video swaps her for (almost) the entire roster, similar to the Q swap reported earlier. Laura as Ryu never looked more determined. However, some of the larger cast members result in some facial distortions that could be described as… nightmarish.
