Tokido Discusses Japan’s Success in Street Fighter V: ‘We Practice a Lot; We Don’t Play Online’
Japan has always been a dominant force when it comes to competitive fighting games. Even in Street Fighter V–a game without an arcade release–Japanese players are still doing well in tournaments.
In a short interview with Yahoo! Esports’ Dylan Walker, Hajime “Tokido” Taniguchi addresses Japan’s dominance, saying that it’s because they do practice a lot. Additionally, he states that they do not play online, opting instead to play together whenever they can. When pressed further about this, Tokido goes on to say that the players in Japan share information with each other so that all the players can continue to grow stronger.
Of course, that’s not the only thing that they discuss. Tokido also talks about competing as one of the best players who currently doesn’t have a sponsor.
