Killer Instinct: Definitive Edition Officially Announced, Coming September 20

Hot on the heels of retailers leaking the game’s existence, Microsoft has now officially announced Killer Instinct: Definitive Edition.

As previously speculated, the game will come with all 26 characters from the game’s 3 seasons. In addition to this, it comes with both Killer Instinct Classic 1 & 2 for Xbox One–faithful recreations of the 90s arcade originals. Other features include an interactive universe map with stage location details, plus exclusive behind-the-scenes videos digging into the history, world, and design of this beloved franchise.

Additionally, those who pick it up in stores will receive a bonus Original Soundtrack CD and an exclusive Gold Gargos character skin.

Killer Instinct: Definitive Edition hits stores on September 20 and will retail for $39.99. In the meantime, check out the official announcement trailer below.

Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- Glitch Allows Johnny to Retain Unblockable Properties

One of Johnny Sfondi’s moves in Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- is his Bacchus Sigh. This attack produces a mist that, upon contact with the opponent, makes Johnny’s next Mist Finer attack unblockable.

While the unblockable property is supposed to last only while the mist is present, a glitch in the game allows Johnny to retain the property even after it has dissipated. As ShiSin pointed out in a recent Tweet, while hitting Johnny makes the mist go away, he still retains the unblockable property until he uses a Mist Finer.

As Mike Z noted when he brought this to our attention, there’s no way to ban the use of the glitch; it’s simply going to happen sometimes in the natural flow of a match.

Will there be players with the presence of mind to score some unintended unblockables this weekend at Evo? We’ll have to wait and see.

Bow Before Geese Howard and His Team in the Latest King of Fighters XIV Team Trailer

Just like death and long desks, you cannot escape from SNK’s weekly team trailers for the King of Fighters XIV. This time, they give us a look at Team Southtown featuring Billy Kane, Hein, and their boss, Geese Howard.

While we’ve seen Geese in a trailer before (as well as his alternate nightmare costume), this is the first time we’re seeing him do more than just counter his predictable and pathetic foes.

The King of Fighters XIV launches on PlayStation 4 in August. For those interested, SNK and Atlus are hosting a panel and official side tournament this weekend at Evo.
