Government Backed British eSports Association Has Formed with Potential Fighting Game Representation
Following some backing from the UK Government (which seems to be in tatters at the moment), an official non-profit organization has been formed, named the British eSports Association, to “develop a grassroots competitive video game scene that will nurture future talent and support existing professionals.”. This Association is based in Pinewood Studios and will work directly with the Department for Culture, Media and Sports to foster an infrastructure to promote local talent and support scenes within the UK.
Along with this announcement, the British eSports Association has launched its official site, which will act as a hub for news on events, local teams and leagues which players can compete in. Now you may be asking, what does this have to do with fighting games? Well, in order to help determine the future of UK eSports, the Association needs player and fan feedback to determine the direction which the organization should take going forward. So, if you wish to see Street Fighter, Smash, Tekken or any other fighting game represented by this Association, send your emails in to the following address. Don’t fret players outside of the UK because as part of this initiative to launch the eGames in South Korea in 2018, countries like the USA, Canada, Brazil, Japan and Korea will also be fielding their own national eSports associations. Make sure to petition those organizations for fighting game representation, when their respective sites launch.

Apparent Glitch Gives Ibuki Invincibility After Missed Air Throw
Street Fighter V’s Ibuki suffers from an apparent glitch that gives her several frames of invincibility upon landing after a missed air grab. A video from @ToolAssisted’s Twitter shows Ibuki’s hurtbox disappearing as she lands from the whiffed air grab, allowing another Ibuki’s V-Skill to pass through her.

Ibuki can still be hit out the air as normal, but she gains six frames of invincibility when she hits the ground, meaning that attacks that could’ve punished her landing recovery will miss entirely. This occurs when Ibuki is jumping both forward and backwards with air grab.
Glitches like this are not exactly uncommon for downloadable characters, but with Ibuki and Balrog already being given the green light at Evo, this glitch will likely raise some concern among the competitors.

Though the invincibility could be exploitable, this certainly isn’t the first time that such a glitch has existed. In Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Yang was granted several frames of invincibility when standing up from certain knockdowns.
That glitch was discovered in the early days of the game’s console release, and eventually removed in AE v.2012.
With Evo less than two weeks away, it’s unknown whether Capcom will address the invincibility glitch or if the issue is significant enough to affect her legality in the tournament.
