Denial eSports Picks Up Zero Suit Samus Prodigy Tyler “Marss” Martins
After picking up Duck late last week for Melee, Denial eSports is making quite the impression in the world of Smash by signing Tyler “Marss” Martins as their first Super Smash Bros. for Wii U player. The 17-year-old from New England has made a hell of an impression over the past year or so, establishing himself of one of the world’s best Zero Suit Samus players: gaining fifth at Apex 2016, ninth at Evo 2016, second at 2GGT: KTAR Saga and most recently, fourth at GUMS 9.
He is currently ranked number one on the New England Smash 4 Power Ranking and holds 19th on the Panda Global Smash 4 Ranking, so Denial have certainly picked one of the brightest new players in Smash 4 as their first signing. He and Duck will be representing Denial at Shine 2016 next weekend, hoping to bring back two trophies for the Wolfpack. Infamous for turning up to tournaments in pyjama bottoms, I wonder if Marss will be sporting special Denial-brand bottoms for his team debut at Shine.

New Tekken 7: Fated Retribution Story Details Reveal Playable Child Kazuya
Gamescom 2016’s fighting game news continues with fresh Story Mode details for Tekken 7: Fated Retribution. Among the more intriguing tidbits are screenshots featuring a young Kazuya Mishima training with his father, Heihachi. Tekken 7’s Story Mode will offer several hours of gameplay and includes featurettes that look back in time–with this child Kazuya being a playable character.
Other than the Mishima storyline, there are several unlockable side stories that involve other characters from the series. There will also be some story-specific costumes for those fighters. One available side story focuses on Claudio Serafino, a supernatural investigator from the Archers of Sirius group, who potentially has the means to defeat the Devil Gene.

Rage Quitters Beware: Street Fighter V Now Bans Quitters for 24 Hours with a 1000 LP Penalty
As mentioned in Capcom’s most recent announcement, Street Fighter V was expected to implement a new system to deal with rage quitters as part of yesterday’s server maintenance. According to reports from the both r/StreetFighter and r/Kappa subreddits, the new anti-rage quit system is indeed now active: specifically, anyone who leaves a match 3 times within 2 hours will get hit with a 24-hour ban as well as a deduction of 1,000 League Points.
This is a welcome addition to a game that’s been sorely needing this since launch. That said, this doesn’t seem to have been implemented without any hitches; there have been some players who claimed to have been banned after being rage quit upon, not rage quitting themselves. Capcom’s Neidel “haunts” Crisan has addressed this on reddit, stating that players who remain connected to the matchmaking server after a disconnect shouldn’t be marked as having rage quit. However, he further clarified that he is on the look out for any footage that shows otherwise, and that he’ll forward any that is found to their team.
