One thing that we couldn’t do before the shift to 3D graphics for 2D fighters is gain the ability to explore these game’s stages in greater detail. With the help of a few PC mods, we can get a closer look at these stages than we’ve ever seen before–or are able to, in the course of regular gameplay.
X-Kira, creator of the free-roaming camera mod for Street Fighter V, has shared a few “Editor Room” videos taking the camera on free-roaming tours around some select stages: specifically, they focus on the DLC stages Kanzuki Beach and High Roller Casino, as well as the regular City in Chaos stage. This gives us a closer look at how these stages are constructed to give the illusion of a fully realized world–including a few surprisingly fully-rendered details: the boats in the beach stage, the Ferris wheel in the casino stage, or the Operation C.H.A.I.N.S. satellite floating high up in the city stage’s sky.
These are just the latest stages to get this treatment, check out the other stage videos that X-Kira has done in the following playlist.
