Capcom’s Hideaki Itsuno Talks about the Possibility of a Rival Schools 3
Aside from Street Fighter, Capcom created a number of fighting game series back in the late ’90s: one of the most popular was Rival Schools, a unique take on the genre that mixed 3D movement with high flying air combos similar to the Versus series. Combine this with the unique cast of high school students–guest-starring Sakura Kasugano–and you have one of Capcom’s most memorable entries from the era.
Now, it seems that there’s at least one person at Capcom interested in bringing Rival Schools back. Hideaki Itsuno, who directed the original games before moving on to titles such as Devil May Cry 3 and Dragon’s Dogma, has been talking a lot about reviving the series over at the CFN Portal.
The interview itself goes over a lot of topics concerning the series creation, such as how they originally came up with the concept, and the actual designs of the characters. One thing that’s clear is how much Itsuno loves the series.
Itsuno concludes the interview by stating that he’s been wanting to continue the series for the longest time now, and states that the story of the main characters (Batsu, Hinata, and Kyosuke) isn’t finished. He encourages fans who want to show support to tweet him with the hashtag #RivalSchools3.

Kakao developers have posted a new thread on the Black Desert Online forum to let players know about a big change coming to the game. Value Packages, Outfits, Costumes and Pets will soon be made available through the Market Place for in-game currency. In an effort to calm potential community concerns, the team has indicated that Pearl Abyss has placed some restrictions in the system to head off those who will try to gain an advantage by using real world cash.

Tokido, Fuudo, Yukadon and More Face Off in the Rage Esports Grand Finals
Japan’s Rage eSports recently held the final event for volume two of their Street Fighter V tournament series. Eight qualifiers from Tokyo and Osaka were chosen through ranking tournaments leading up to the Rage League Grand Finals last weekend.
Among the qualifiers were Evo 2016 runner-up RZR|Fuudo and third place finisher Yukadon, along with Tokido, GGP|Kazunoko, HM|Eita, OR|Nuki, Cojiro and StormKUBO. All eight were placed into a best of three double elimination bracket, with only the grand finals being best of five games.
A pair of international visitors made appearances for special exhibitions as well, with South Korea’s RZR|Infiltration facing off against RZR|Fuudo in a rematch of the Evo 2016 Grand Finals and USA’s RB|Snake Eyez playing against Tokido.
The Rage League Grand Finals are rather production heavy, coming out to nearly seven hours of footage. but you can find the complete event here with English commentary and time stamps below.
