Watch the Capcom Pro Tour Online North and Latin America Qualifiers #2 Finals, feat. Filipino Champ, Brolynho & Others

It was a busy weekend for Street Fighter V: in addition to Daigo Umehara securing top spot at Lockdown and EG|Justin Wong claiming first place at Manila Cup, we saw the second round of Capcom Pro Tour online qualifying events for North America and Latin America. XusesGB has compiled the CFN footage of the finals matches for these events, so you can check out the action in the videos below!

The North American Losers Finals pitted ANBU|Punk against Liquid|NuckleDu, resulting in Punk advancing to fight PG|Filipino Champ’s Dhalsim in the Grand Finals; meanwhile the Latin America Grand Finals saw SOA|Brolynho face off against GAM|DR Ray.

Where Does the MMO Genre Sit With You?

The MMO genre is the one that I play the most and the one I predominantly choose to write about. What has become apparent however, certainly over the last year and irrespective of which MMO website I choose to read, is the sense that massively multiplayer games are no longer the golden goose for developers. In fact, there’s a growing sense that they’re largely finished; the lack of upcoming AAA MMO’s combined with the rise of the MOBA is testament to that.

Street Fighter V Producer Yoshinori Ono Will Not Be Attending Tokyo Game Show Due to Illness

With the Street Fighter V promotional bandwagon making its stop on home turf for Tokyo Game Show, and big announcements for the game scheduled, everyone who’s anyone in the game will be on hand for the festivities–but on a sad note, one of the biggest names in the community (and Capcom altogether) has had to scratch his name off the RSVP list.

Yoshinori Ono, producer of Street Fighter V–as well as Street Fighter X Tekken and Street Fighter IV–announced on Twitter today that due to health reasons, he will be unable to attend Tokyo Game Show, posting pictures of his medication regimen.

When hearing this news, one can’t help being reminded of back in 2012, when the famed producer was hospitalized near the end of the promotional run of Street Fighter X Tekken. After recovering, Ono stepped down from his position temporarily in order to recuperate.

Watch the Stocks Melt Away in This Westballz Zero-to-Death Compilation

Zero-to-death combos in Super Smash Bros. Melee are things of beauty: one player so in tune with their character that they can decimate an opponent’s stock in a matter of seconds. When he is on fire, G2 Esports’ Weston “Westballz” Dennis is the master of the zero-to-death, and performs combos which look like they were created by a TAS, not a human.

In this compilation from Smasha G, 20 of Westballz’ best zero-to-deaths are all in one place. These range from ridiculous Falcon Punch combos, to the infamous matches against Leffen at BEAST 6, where Westballz had about three of these insane combos over two sets. You can see truly see how crazy Melee can be, when someone like Westballz is in true control of their character.
