Learn How to Best Dodge Nerfed Fireballs in King of Fighters XIV 1.03

Many characters in King of Fighters XIV are capable of using certain normals or short hop with an air move to dodge projectiles, if they aren’t capable of outright armoring through them. We’ve already reported on a few videos by Gato Ray on the matter, but he’s back with an update. After the latest patch, certain character fireballs were made less effective, making them easier to dodge, especially for characters with poor options to do so. He goes through all of these options, making it easy to brush up on your matchup knowledge.

Bombs, Clay Pigeons and Flowerpots: The Beefy Smash Doods Lay Out the Top Five Projectile Users in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

For every player that loves rushing their opponent down and overwhelming them with blinding speed, there will be another who prefers the patient process of filling a screen with projectiles and traps. With Smash 4 having over 55 characters, there are a fair few fighters mixed in with the boxers, plumbers and space animals for those who prefer projectile zoning.

To find out which fighters are the best with a gun or a bow, the Beefy Smash Doods have made a new video, giving their opinion on the top five projectile based characters in Smash 4. In order to make this list, the character can’t just have a single strong projectile; they need an arsenal of useful ranged moves that compliment each other to create a fighter who has multiple ways to frustrate their opponent. As such, don’t expect someone like Lucario or Pac-Man on this list.

Both Regular and Collector’s Editions of Street Fighter V for PlayStation 4 are On Sale at GameStop, Best Buy and Amazon

If you are looking to pick up Street Fighter V to catch up on all the action, now might be a great time to purchase the game as Street Fighter V is currently on sale at a number of retailers.

Both GameStop and Best Buy both have Street Fighter V for PlayStation 4 on sale for only $29.99. Take note that this is for the physical disc version and that buying them will still incur shipping and handling charges.  Still, they’re decent deals for anyone looking for a physical copy of the game.

In addition to this, both Amazon and GameStop have the collector’s edition of Street Fighter V, again for PlayStation 4, on sale for $38.97. The collector’s edition includes with it a limited edition 10 inch Ryu statue, 48 page hard cover artbook, DLC cards for extra goodies, a one month subscription to the Capcom Fighters Twitch channel, digital Street Fighter comics from Udon, a Street Fighter V soundtrack sampler and more.

While Street Fighter V has had a rocky launch, the numerous updates have helped pad out the game’s content and address more than a few of the game’s issues.  Features such as story mode, daily challenges, costume shop, etc. have now all been added, while issues such as the input delay have been addressed as much as they can be without affecting the game’s balance.  In addition to this, the game’s cast has been expanded with six additional characters, that can be purchased either via in game Fight Money or real money.

Interested buyers for the regular disc edition can head on over to GameStop or Best Buy. Meanwhile those looking for the collector’s edition can hear to either Amazon or GameStop. With the recent update to Capcom’s financial report showing that the game is still vastly under its sales targets, discounts like these may become more common as Capcom try to shift more units of Street Fighter V.

Skullgirls 2nd Encore Beta Revamping Beowulf with Changes to His Hype Mechanic

There are big changes being tested in the Skullgirls Beta, which will eventually make their way onto a final patch, and eventually on a physical disc release of Skullgirls. The finality of these changes means that developer Lab Zero has to be extra careful with new changes, to ensure they don’t break the game.

Speaking of breaking the game, the latest character to be effected on a large scale is Beowulf, who is receiving a massive update to his signature hype feature. You can read up on Beowulf’s changes here. Essentially, Beowulf will now be allowed to spend accumulated levels of hype on special EX versions of certain moves, allowing him more versatility and combo potential. He received a damage nerf to compensate, but it became very clear very quickly that further tuning is needed. Check below for a sample of what Beowulf will be getting.

Do note that this key change to Beowulf is still in beta, and the damage is likely going to change in the next patch. The EX finishers are staying in some form, but this damage isn’t.

Flipsid3 Tactics Adds Thomas “Brolynho” Proenç and Matthew “Glitch” Testini to Their Fighting Game Division

To help grow their place in the FGC, Flipsid3 Tactics has added two new members to its fighting game division. The first is Brazilian Necalli player Thomas “Brolynho” Proenç, joining the team off the back of his continued success in Latin America. With first place finishes at Latin America’s second Online Ranking event and Fight for Rio: Olympia, as well as victory over Evo 2016 champion Seon-Woo “Infiltration” Lee at Brooklyn Beatdown, Brolynho’s Necalli is a force to be reckoned with and is certainly looking like one of the favorites to qualify for Capcom Cup out of the LatAm Regional Final on November 2nd. Brolynho joins Antwan “alucarD” Ortiz as the second dedicated Street Fighter V player on Flipsid3 Tactics’ roster.

With the passing of Flipsid3’s dedicated FGC Division Manager Christopher “NinjaCW” Harris, they have appointed Matthew “Glitch” Testini to build on the hard work started by NinjaCW. Glitch has earned his stripes by running events within New York City, as well as competing for Play All Gaming as their team captain. His combination of TO and player knowledge makes Glitch well equipped to lead Flipsid3 Tactics to continued growth.
