Canada Cup 2016 Day 1 Streaming Live from Toronto, Ontario

This weekend is the seventh annual Canada Cup. For its second straight year, the series will be taking place in eastern Canada, in Toronto. As one of Canada’s largest tournaments, a Capcom Pro Tour premier event, and the last event of the 2016 CPT season to have ranking points, Canada Cup 2016 will be packed with top players looking to get into Capcom Cup, whether through direction qualification or the points leaderboards. Beyond just Street Fighter V, this year’s event will feature a ton of tournaments for games both recent and classic, including a King of Fighters XIV World Championship qualifier, a $3000 prize pot Tekken 7 Fated Retribution tourney and the classic Street Fighter 5v5.

Tournament Games

Some of the best players in variety of games from around the world will be in Canada for the week. Names like Daigo Umehara, INFILTRATION, xyzzy, Justin Wong, PR Balrog, Ricki Ortiz, Armada, Hungrybox, Mew2King, Ally, NerdJosh, RayRay and K-Brad are just a sample from the list of competitors. Streams

Canada Cup Gaming will be providing four live streams for the event, while Capcom Fighters will be providing exclusive coverage for the Street Fighter V singles competition.

Remix Your Heart With These First Mai Natsume Clips from BlazBlue: Central Fiction

While the Western fans of BlazBlue: Central Fiction have to wait until November 1st to play the second DLC character, Mai Natsume, the brave spear-wielder is already available on PlayStation Network in Asia. The first impressions of her seem to be very positive, as these clips below show off some powerful combos and tech.

Here’s a quick round-up to get acquainted with what Mai can do:

Machabo tweeted a series of damaging Mai combos from a fatal counter. He’s saying the character is good.

 A more damaging combo that requires Overdrive and 100 Heat.

Mai’s backflip is not supposed to be invincible from frame one, but it could possibly be from frame two.

An example of a corner combo, which allows Mai to do safejump pressure.

A mid-screen combo from an overhead that gets to 4000 damage with a Distortion Drive.

This short combo video by Sugi showcases a lot of practical confirms, including examples from throws and air attacks.

Battleborn – 29th Hero, Kid Ultra, Joins Up

The twenty-ninth hero in Battleborn has entered the fray as of this week. Season Pass and Digital Deluxe holders can access Kid Ultra immediately, while all others can purchase her for 47,500 game credits starting November 3rd. Kid Ultra uses drones, rockets and other robotics to bring a world of hurt to enemies. You can check Kid Ultra out in her skills overview trailer or head to the Battleborn site to learn more.
