Bison Aims for World Conquest in His Own Season Two Roundup

Out of the characters that seemed strong early on in Street Fighter V, nobody seemed to plummet to earth faster than M. Bison. The perennial boss of the Street Fighter series faced a boss battle of his own over Season One trying to gain viability, and ultimately lost that battle.

However, things are looking up for the head of Shadoloo, as we’ll see in this roundup of various new Bison tech. First off we can see what the frame data changes to Bison’s target combo of standing strong into down/forward fierce has done for him, as he now has some pretty interesting new potential off of it.

Down/forward fierce also has more added benefits due to its hitbox in this season, as Bison now has interesting shimmy setups with the command normal in this iteration of the game.

Lastly, here’s a few new gritty combos for Bison primed for Season two consumption.

When Akuma was announced for Street Fighter V, all the eyes of the community most certain were fixated on Hajime “Tokido” Taniguchi. Easily one of the best Akuma players in the Street Fighter IV series, it was definitely a distinct possibility that we would see him switch back to his old main in Season Two.

The question as to whether he would may be answered, as Tokido has made his way to playing him early on in Season Two. He is already starting to look solid with his Akuma play. Will we see him go full-time with the character? Here’s hoping!

Shine 2017 is Coming Back to New England on August 27th-28th

In the briefest of announcements yesterday, Big Blue Esports has announced that Shine will be coming back for 2017, running between August 27th-28th. By the looks of it, it will be returning to Boston, Massachusetts but we have no news on if it will be back at the Seaport World Trade Center or at a different location in the city.

Titled #TheLastDopeTournament, an obvious reference to New England Peach main Mafia, Shine 2017 has quite the reputation to live up to. The previous Shine was not only the largest fighting game event in the whole of New England, but it was lauded by attendees for being one of the most well run and relaxed tournaments that they had ever gone to. With over 2000 entrants across Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. 64, Shine 2017 may be even bigger and act as a suitable closer for next year’s Summer of Smash.

Watch the blink and you’ll miss it teaser below and expect more news on Shine 2017 in the new year.

Akuma Fireball Crossups, New Juri Combos and More in This Day 1 Roundup for Street Fighter V Season Two

With Day 1 of Season Two reaching it in, everyone is in the lab, fully exploring all the changes and how they can exploit them to their benefit. So with that said, here’s a smattering of some of the tech that has been discovered in the last 24 hours that will help you out on your merry way.

First, we have none other than the demon himself, Akuma. Already known for his pressure and mixup game on wakeup, he has a seriously good meaty setup by way of his air fireball. This also makes his okizeme options a little more ambiguous.

Next, while we’ve already discovered that Guile still has Sonic Boom loops in Season 2 despite the changes to his pushback, desk as another, equally viable, variation on them ready for people to utilize.

Then, we’ve discussed some of Juri’s new potential already. Now, we have a compendium of the plethora of new combo options Ms. Han has in this season.

Already having one of the largest damage potentials in the game, Urien is back to his old ways, and then some. Here’s just a taste of what Urien can do in Season 2.

Finally, this roundup couldn’t be complete without a look at the biggest heel of Season 1: R. Mika. Yes, she got hit hard with the nerf bat in season 2, but that doesn’t mean she can’t continue her zany ways. Here’s a look of what she is still capable of.

While this is only a handful of what has been brought to the table today, you can certainly expect more tomorrow. Thus, you owe it to yourself to tune back in for more exciting new tech!

Marvel at Juri’s New V-Trigger Combos and Meaty Setups in Season Two of Street Fighter V

There’s a lot of new tech from everyone’s favorite Taekwondo sadist Juri coming out that makes her look leaps and bounds more viable than she was in Season 1. Earlier, we talked about how dangerous her anti air game could be, with her being able to do Tekken-like juggles after an anti-air.

Today, we see more tech coming out of the woodwork. First we see some pretty amazing combos from her Feng Shui Engine V-Trigger, dealing somewhere around 40% damage and only requiring one bar of meter.

Next, we have some meaty setups to make sure people wish they have their first frame invincible reversals back.

Hwoarang was not available for immediate comment to answer whether he taught his fellow countrywoman about juggle potential.
