In Super Smash Bros., using your shield mere frames before an attack hits activates what’s known as a Power Shield, a shield that parries melee attacks and reflects projectiles back in the direction of the attacker. Though virtually every high-level Smash player is aware of this technique, sometimes they get a rude reminder of just how effective Power Shielding can be.
In their latest video compilation, Mr.Pickle255 accumulates 10 insane Power Shield situations from several Super Smash Bros. Melee matches. Top Players like Ice, Armada, Leffen, Frootloop and Darkrain make appearances in the clip. A particular Power Shield from one of these players brings Smash commentator D1 to the brink of tears, but you’ll have to watch the video to see who.
