SonicFox Talks about Joining Echo Fox with Yahoo! Esports

In a move that hardly anybody expected–and many have found parallels professional wrestling–the Echo Fox esports team has snagged a large cast of elite fighting game players, such as Momochi, Justin Wong, Tokido, and many more. Another big name from this team owned by Rick Fox is, coincidentally in name, Dominique “SonicFox” McLean, who now also bears the Echo Fox handle.

Yahoo! Esports caught up with FOX|SonicFox, asking about how he migrated to the team. They talk about balancing competitive play with streaming and going to college. When it comes to streaming, SonicFox isn’t limited to just fighting games, or even the ones that he competes in. The player also says that it’s still very possible for anyone without sponsorship to shake up the scene.

Ed Boon Reveals Injustice 2’s Release Date

After receiving a large amount of radio silence on the forthcoming sequel to Netherrealm Stuido’s DC fighting game Injustice 2, save for a quick gameplay breakdown video of Supergirl on IGN First, Ed Boon has officially revealed the title’s release date on his Twitter account, Pinning a tweet that simply says “i2.05.16.17,” indicating that every battle will begin to define us on May 16th, 2017!

We haven’t seen a character reveal since the Suicide Squad’s Harley Quinn and New Challenger Deadshot were announced back in August at Gamecom 2016. With the game now coming out in a little over four months, the character reveals and announcements are sure to pick up speed in the new year. In the meantime, Boon has taken to running polls on Twitter, ranging from everything from the inclusion of Watchmen characters, to which Mortal Kombat character fans would like to see make a guest appearance, like Scorpion did in Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Created by three writer/producers of “The Simpsons,” the original animated comedy series is based on Supercell’s hit mobile games Clash of Clans and Clash Royale, with each 10-minute CLASH-A-RAMA! episode taking viewers inside the Village and Arena to see what life is like between battles.

Could Super Smash Bros. Melee on the Nintendo Switch Work for the Community? Tafokints Thinks So

There’s a whole lot of excitement about the upcoming Nintendo Switch, which means that there is also sorts of speculation floating around–including about the possibility that the Switch may play host to an emulated version of Super Smash Bros. Melee on its GameCube Virtual Console.

This could be a blessing or a curse for the competitive scene, and only time will tell which it will be. If the leaders of the scene are–like Daniel “Tafokints” Lee–open to the possibilities however, anything could happen.

In the video below, Tafokints breaks down the potential pros and cons of the theoretical port, along with some ideas that could make it even more interesting for the competitive scene. Whether it actually happens? Well, that’s another matter entirely.
