Check out this spectacular art from fighting game fans!

Welcome back to Friday Night Fan Art! The women once again dominate the fighting game fare we have tonight, with a look at tetsu‘s spectacular illustrations, then some sketches from Olivia (@livthemagician). At the end, you can also find a link to some wallpapers by SyanArt.

First let’s check out tetsu; ranging from a sketch to full-color pieces, here’s some Street Fighters (and one Darkstalker):

A moment of quiet solitude, before setting out on the day’s raging and murdering: here’s Gouki (Akuma) having a kōhii (or maybe some tea).

tetsu’s Guilty Gear Xrd art is simply fantastic. Here’s Millia Rage, and Baiken:

Check out this very dynamic, very bloody rendition of Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown/The King of Fighters XIV:

There is much, much more that can be seen on tetsu’s (Japanese) blog. Note that some art is NSFW! Thanks go to Ron for the tip on this one.

Next, have a look at Olivia’s great sketches of some of the same Street Fighters as above: Poison, Juri, and also Karin Kanzuki.

If you’re looking to spruce up your desktop a bit, SyanArt has a wealth of fighting game-related wallpapers available to download for free; these wallpapers combine official art assets with new effects to create unique looks. Here’s some examples for Mortal Kombat X and Street Fighter V:

Thanks to everyone that reached out us this week!

Send us leads on the tipline if there’s any great fan art out there you want to see featured next week on Shoryuken!

Mewtwo is one of the game’s strongest and most fundamentally straightforward characters in Pokkén Tournament. There is no character that’s easier to pick up, and no character you are more likely to run into in a tournament. And now that Florida player Six has published his giant Mewtwo guide, there is no reason to not learn the psychic powerhouse.

You’d also be in good company, as this is the main of Pokkén Pro Swillo, and recent 2nd placer at KVO, Thulius.

The guide breaks down all of Mewtwo’s options, combos, strengths, weaknesses, and more. If you can airdash in any other game, you already have an idea of the strength Mewtwo has in this engine. Pick up the guide, give it a try, and see how far it takes you!

You can check out the guide here.
