Turn Megaman’s Metal Blade against him with these counter combos for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Since the discovery of the now famous Kamecombo, Megaman’s Metal Blade is a move that inspires pure fear. You drop shield or jump at the wrong time when the Blue Bomber is holding this item, and that could be the end of your stock.

In order to counter this serrated weapon, the Beefy Smash Doods have gone into the lab to discover combos that other characters can perform using Megaman’s Metal Blade. Seeing as it is an item that Megaman can drop, different fighters can pick up the Blade and start using it for their own purposes. For this video, the Beefy Smash Doods only go through the top row of the character select screen, but they may continue their experiments should people enjoy this video.

Luigi is the only character with absolutely no follow-ups, while other characters like Wario, Peach and Bowser require very specific setups to capitalize off the Metal Blade.

– Steelseries Rival 700 Mouse: A Modular Mouse with an OLED Screen

In October of last year, we had the chance to go hands on with Steelseries’ Rival 500, a neat little MMO/MOBA mouse that won us over from our number pad MMO mouse. This week, Steelseries reached out to see if we would take a look at the next mouse in the Rival line-up, the Rival 700. There are fewer buttons but more modularity, and a unique OLED screen to give the edge for the customization happy consumer. Does it fit the bill? Let’s see.

Core-A Gaming’s latest video voices concerns in the struggle of developing for the spectator

One of the most heated conversations you can have in the FGC right now is about the direction of Street Fighter V’s developing meta. This game is simultaneously the biggest juggernaut for fighting games in esports, and most controversial on a technical level. The reasons for this are varied, and the subject of Core-A Gaming’s latest analysis video.

Core-A Gaming continues to be one of the FGC’s most articulate critical voices. This examination clearly lays out the divide between luck and skill, and how SFV’s development seems unclear where between these two extremes Capcom is trying to place the game’s ecosystem. That said, I am surprised he missed the opportunity to correlate Ryu’s lost execution with his lost tier placement.

After watching the video: What do you think? Is it possible to reduce the skill gap and still have a deep, intellectual game? Or, more cynically: Do you think Capcom’s intentions all along have been to get the spectators first, then subtly change the game over time for competitive players?

Injustice 2 weekend roundup: Stylish Darkseid combos, Bane and Swamp Thing tick throws, Harley Quinn tricks and more

As Injustice 2’s first ever major is going on at Combo Breaker, here is this weekend’s tech roundup to help prepare you for the next big event. Whether you’re a grappler, a zoner or the tyrannical ruler of Apokolips, there should be something for you in this information compilation.

We’ll start off with some stylish combos from the flashy combo master desk. Focusing on Wonder Woman and Darkseid, some of these sequences look super cool but incredibly impractical. One of the combos has Darkseid using four teleports in a single combo. That’s just showing off.

Speaking of Darkseid, VesperArcade has got a beginner combo guide for those trying to learn the master of Parademons. In fact, he’s got beginner combo guides for Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn as well.

For more Harley Quinn tech, rooflemonger has got you covered with more combos and general tips and tricks. He’s also put some time in Injustice 2’s grapplers, Bane and Swamp Thing, creating several videos on how to use these burly brawlers.

To cap this all off, Cody Dickson has got combo videos for the hotheaded matter manipulator Firestorm, as well as Batman’s luchador rival Bane.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will be playable at both E3 and CEO 2017

I think all you Marvel heads have another reason to sign up for CEO. Not only will Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite be playable on the E3 show floor, but it will also be available to play the weekend after E3 at CEO 2017. Attendees will be available to play MvC:I all weekend, but there won’t be any scheduled side tournaments during the event.

The next question you’ll no doubt be asking yourself is who will be playable during this build? I imagine we’re going to get some additional character announcements during Sony’s E3 press conferences on Monday June 12th, so expect to see those fighters in both the E3 and CEO builds of the game. Fingers crossed for Gene, Asura and Dante.

If this announcement has just tipped you over the edge for attending CEO, registration remains open until June 4th. We’ll no doubt see some major tech discoveries and information coming from on-site play tests, so be prepared to hear tons of MvC:I news from both CEO and E3.
