Overwatch – ‘Contenders’ to Serve as Minors to OW League

Overwatch League is the program being implemented by Blizzard to rival professional sports organizations such as the NFL or NBA. As with most major league sports, a “minor league” system is put into place for up-and-coming players. Blizzard has just announced Overwatch Contenders, a “development league for aspiring Overwatch League professionals”.

A hitbox viewer for The King of Fighters XIV is already in development

One of the great things about fighting games getting PC ports is all the tools that players can develop around them. Hitbox viewers are one such tool, especially since we still don’t get these with every game.

With The King of Fighters XIV coming to PC, many were expecting such a mod to eventually be developed. However, what many people weren’t expecting was how soon we would get one! Yes, with the game is still only in beta, we already have a player-made hitbox viewer in the works. French player Loïc Petit, aka WydD has, on the request of Eric “Dantarion” Sheppard, started working on one.

As you’ll notice, the tool is pretty rudimentary in its current state–it doesn’t even overlay itself over the game properly. However, the folks behind the Frame Trapped hitbox viewer for Street Fighter V have already offered to help complete the viewer.

With the latter’s help, hopefully a fully-featured hitbox viewer can be released in time for The King of Fighters XIV‘s Steam Edition this coming June.

LawBreakers – Boss Key Bringing Bleszinski’s FPS to PS4 in 2017

Boss Key Productions has made a pair of pretty cool announcements today. First off, the LawBreakers will be headed to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro later in 2017. Secondly, Nexon announced the business model for the game. PC and PS4 versions will cost $29.99 complete. There will be no season pass and all future updates will be free for all players. Cosmetic items can be earned through game play.

Destiny 2 – The Definitive Version will be on PC

Destiny 2 wowed me last week at the official gameplay reveal in Los Angeles. I mean, yes, it’s basically just Destiny 1.5, but on PC – but I wasn’t expecting it to feel or look quite so good compared to its console cousin. We all know “PC Master Race”, but there at Hawthorne Airport, it became so apparent that the PC has the leg up with this game. And those players willing to give up the XBone or PS4 will likely be very happy they did.
