Yahoo! Esports recounts Nairo’s Super Smash Bros. legacy, ahead of 2GGC: Nairo Saga

With 2GGC: Nairo Saga happening this weekend, Yahoo! Esports have created a short documentary to commemorate NRG|Nairo’s legacy. Cutting his teeth in Super Smash Bros. Brawl alongside players like C9|Ally, TSM|ZeRo and IMT|ANTi, Nairo has been famous for his relentless offense and ability to kill an opponent seemingly off of one hit.

The release of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U saw Nairo handing in the sword and cape of Meta Knight for Zero Suit Samus’ plasma pistol. Now, Nairo is widely regarded as the world’s best ZSS player, with his aggressive playstyle working perfectly with ZSS’s amazing burst damage potential. He’s no one-trick pony though, as Nairo is famous for pulling out other characters to win the day. His Bowser is infamous for stealing sets off players who should really know the match-up.

The documentary not only talks to Nairo, but to other members of the Smash community who have a history with him. He has quite the mountain to climb if he wants to finally break the 2GG Saga Curse this weekend, so tune in to see if Nairo can finally do it.

Get the basics of backdashing down with this Tekken 7 movement guide

It’s a long road down to perfect movement mastery in Tekken. Virtua Fighter player rooflemonger himself admits as much in his latest video: “It’s a very deep ocean. You have to work a lot harder for your backdash than other 3D fighters.”

He is, of course, referring to the Korean Backdash, a technique perhaps too overwhelming for a first time Tekken player. rooflemonger’s movement guide gives a very brief, quick explanation of how dashing while standing and sidestep canceling works. For beginners, this is a great place to start — especially if you want to learn to improve your backdash speed quickly, even though you’re not ready to do the KBD yet.
