Street Fighter V still leads Evo 2017 registration numbers; Tekken 7 & Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 on the rise

As registration draws near to closing for Evo 2017, Joey “Mr. Wizard” Cuellar gave us another peek at the comparative registration standings for each main event. Here’s how the registration count for each game currently stacks up:

  2. Super Smash Bros. Melee / Super Smash Bros. for Wii U [tied]
  3. Tekken 7
  4. Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2
  5. Injustice 2
  6. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
  7. BlazBlue: Central Fiction
  8. The King of Fighters XIV

Since the prior list provided just over a month ago, registration for Tekken 7 and Ultimate Marvel. vs. Capcom 3 have increased relatively, bumping them each up a notch on the list. Surely Tekken 7‘s release and positive reception have had an effect; has news on Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite done the same for UMvC3? Whether you’re registered for the former iteration or not, you’ll be able to try Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite‘s VERSUS demo at Evo this year.

Secret World Legends – ‘Shared-World RPG’ Launches for the Masses with New Trailer

Funcom has announced that Secret World Legends has officially launched worldwide for PC users. It is a fully F2P game with an in-game item shop that is a “reimagined and reborn” version of the company’s MMO, The Secret World. The core game play has been overhauled to make it more accessible to players with a more intuitive progression system, a better quest flow, a revamped combat system and much more.

Grand Theft Auto Online – Open IV Gets Small Update, Single Player Mods OK? Maybe…

Fans of single player mods for Grand Theft Auto V who were dismayed to learn of Take-Two’s decision to send a cease & desist order to the team behind Open IV, one of the most prominent modding tools for the game. The resulting furor over the revelation caused GTA V’s Steam ratings to tumble after irate fans descended to express their displeasure. Over 56,000 “recent” reviews have resulted in an “overwhelmingly negative” rating.

Conan Exiles – Updating Game Engine Delays Climbing Patch

Funcom is updating the Conan Exiles game engine from Unreal 4.12 to 4.15 and the process to do so is taking longer than anticipated. The upgraded engine will be worth it in the end, but the slow process of conversion is creating a few issues, most notably the delay of the climbing patch that was expected to be released by now.

Joseph Parker vs Hughie Fury set for September 23 in Manchester

WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker (23-0, 18 KOs) will fight mandatory challenger Hughie Fury (20-0, 10 KOs) on September 23 at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.
Fury, 22, was supposed to travel to Parker’s home country of New Zealand to fight him on May 6, but pulled out two weeks before the fight, citing a back injury.
