Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite Story Demo: desk defeats Ultron Sigma (with swag) using a classic Spencer grapple loop

With the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite Story Demo released earlier this month, veteran combo creator and game scientist desk has been exploring the title’s systems — particularly the new freeform tag mechanics — and pushing them to their limits, even while having no access to a proper Training Mode. We’ve already seen him analyze MVC:I’s take on infinite prevention, as well as putting out an initial combo video filled with some very impressive sequences.

Now the content creator provides us with a method to defeat the game’s boss, Ultron Sigma, who players will face in the final battle of the demo (with the team of Spencer and Thor) utilizing a grapple loop with the Bionic Commando.

Though Ultron Sigma takes very little damage, will Advancing Guard nearly all your attacks, and possesses both the Reality and Space Infinity Stones, desk’s loop of J.LP, HP, d+HP (Head Smasher) canceled into down-forward Wire Grapple, combined with Power Stone wallbounces and a few Hypers, should allow you to survive the match. The combo looks similar to some loops from back in Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

Check out even more of desk’s work with the Story Demo here!

Final Fantasy XIV – PvP is Amazing in Stormblood

Despite the game’s strong PvE leanings, Yoshi-P continues to make the case for PvP in FFXIV with the addition of new PvP content introduced to the game over time. But despite the team’s efforts, it’s never really taken off until the release of the game’s latest expansion, Stormblood.

Future Trunks joining the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster

Shown off in the latest issue of Weekly Jump, Arc System Works and Bandai Namco have revealed that the half-human, half-Saiyan time-traveler Trunks will be joining the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster. Much like the other heroes seen so far in Dragon Ball FighterZ, Trunks is sporting his look from the Android Saga back in Dragon Ball Z, rather than his new design in Dragon Ball Super. Based on the single image from Weekly Jump, we see Trunks doing what looks like his Heat Dome Attack — which he uses to kill Future Imperfect Cell. The dramatic camera angle in the screenshot probably means that this move will be his Level 3 super.

At the moment, all of the fighters on DBF’s roster are from Dragon Ball Z, with there being very little reference to the original Dragon Ball or current series Dragon Ball Super, outside of the Golden Freeza transformation. Do keep in mind that Dragon Ball FighterZ is only 20% complete, so we can still expect more characters from across all of the Dragon Ball mythos to appear in the full game. Seeing as Dragon Ball FighterZ will not be filled with multiple versions of the same character in their different transformations, I imagine the roster will be quite the eclectic one. With the Tournament of Power just about to start in the Dragon Ball Super anime, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see characters like Toppo, Jiren, Hit, and fighters from other universes in the final product.

Expect more information about Dragon Ball FighterZ soon, as the beta is coming up at the end of summer. Will Trunks appear in this version, or will it just be the E3 demo? We’ll find out soon enough.
