Capcom enters into cross-licensing agreement with Bandai Namco for “online matching” content development

Capcom Japan just dropped a press release revealing their new cross-licensing agreement with Bandai Namco. Per the press release, the nature of the agreement is specifically in relation to “online matching” properties such as (but not specifically) Street Fighter.

It’s perhaps a little surprising that Capcom hadn’t already entered into such a contract, given the two companies’ close work with each other on past titles. The press release mentions this is in the “interest of accelerating production of titles and reducing development cost.” Now that both Tekken 7 and Street Fighter V are out in the wild, though, one might wonder if this is a hint at the long-buried Tekken X Street Fighter crossover in the works on Namco’s side.

Without further information, however, anything at this point would be pure speculation.

Recently though, a problem has been growing in both severity and in number with the rise of AFK farming on the new living world maps.
