Diablo 3 – Rise of the Necromancer is Well Worth the Price of Admission

I’m going to get this out there right off the bat: I wish that Blizzard would start developing Diablo 4 or at least give us a new expansion. I love the series but it’s time to move past Diablo 3. That said, Rise of the Necromancer is a lot of fun and it’s made playing D3 fun again. To say that I haven’t gotten my money’s worth would be untrue and I’ve totally found that I’ve extracted $15 worth of fun already.

Here’s how Pokkén Tournament DX compares graphically to the Wii U original

As most of you already know, Pokkén Tournament is getting an updated re-release for Nintendo Switch, Pokkén Tournament DX. This updated version brings with it new features such as 3v3 battles, as well as the extra characters from the arcade version that didn’t made it to the Wii U release.

Alongside these new additions, Pokkén Tournament DX also brings with it some graphical upgrades. Just how much have the game’s graphics improved? To find out, Digital Foundry did a comparison video where they took the footage from E3, and used that a basis for comparison against footage captured from the Wii U version.

As the video below demonstrates, the most obvious difference is that Pokkén Tournament DX now runs at a full 1280 x 720, compared to the 960 x 720 of the original. In addition to this, the Switch version also features better texture filtering, while consistently hitting its 60 FPS target. That said, like the original, the Switch version still lacks anti-aliasing.

Evo 2017: The order of the games appearing in the Sunday finals has been decided

Here’s how the final battles will go down at the Mandalay Bay arena on Sunday, July 16.

While the games that would comprise Sunday’s Evo 2017 World Finals at the Mandalay Bay Events Center were named (except one) in the original lineup announcement, aside from the Player’s Choice selection we didn’t know what order they would appear in. Thanks to an announcement on Twitter, now we do:

  1. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
  2. BlazBlue: Central Fiction
  3. Tekken 7
  4. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
  5. Street Fighter V

As the Player’s Choice winner, the opening slot was saved for UMvC3, while it comes as no surprise that the event closes with SFV. Stay tuned for a more detailed schedule to come.

Evo 2017 takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 14-16. Online registration for Evo 2017 has closed, and preliminary bracket information should be appearing soon. Spectators can still purchase passes at the door for $40, and tickets are still available for the Sunday finals at AXS.com.
