Beware THE STREAM MONSTER: CEO 2017 stream commentary brought to life

They lurk on the ‘net, waiting for tournament gameplay to appear…

We’re all familiar with how chaotic, ridiculous, and bizarre the comment section on an FGC tournament stream becomes. Once the “stream monsters” arrive, the madness begins.

New YouTube channel THE STREAM MONSTER gives a voice to this insanity; check out the first two videos below, sampling the monstrous comment sections from CEO 2017’s Street Fighter V and Injustice 2 finals. Naturally, some of the language is NSFW!

Keep an eye on THE STREAM MONSTER YouTube channel for more wonderful, terrible stream commentary in the future.

Put out Blaziken’s fire with Allister’s match-up tips for Suicune in Pokkén Tournament

SetToDestroyX|Allister is North America’s most recognizable and accomplished Suicune player. Perhaps even the most recognizable Pokkén player, period, when taking into account the fact he was tapped for Nintendo’s Pokkén Tournament DX exhibition at E3. If anyone is going to have valuable match-up knowledge to share, it’s this tournament veteran!

Blaziken is a character that seems terrifying at first — as any character with a screen munching, jab-speed powerful attack like Blaze Kick would. But there’s a lot of gaps and tricks you can use to take advantage of the fire bird’s offense, forcing him to play more honestly with you.

ARMS University presents character guide for the versatile Spring Man

Nintendo’s lead protagonist of ARMS is, perhaps predictably, an orthodox, balanced character. This makes him a great starting place for learning the ins-and-outs of ARMS gameplay.

Equipped with the ability to deflect incoming attacks,  Spring Man controls the ground and can punish predictable opponents reliably. He also gets permanently-charged arms when below 25% health thanks to his “Guts” ability, allowing him to pressure hard and build meter quickly. You may not want to stick with Spring Man, but you’ll pick up footsies and punishment concepts quickly with this straightforward moveset.

Learn to punish push block with this new Injustice 2 video

Push blocking is a good defensive tool available to Injustice 2 players. Timed right, it can be used to break out of a reset or a mixup and slow down an opponent’s offense.

As part of their new series of tutorials in preparation for Evo 2017, ETC Chile have released this video showing how to deal with push blocks. Specifically, the video showcases ways to punish push block attempts both in different situations — such as during a reset attempt, and also in the neutral. Mastering these should help players continue their pressure, and allow them to discourage their opponents from using push block!
