– Absolver Preorders – Physical & Digital Editions Incoming

Sloclap and Devolver Digital have announced preorder information for Absolver that is currently slated for PlayStation 4 and PC release on August 29th. Interested folks can place orders today for 10% off the price and will receive a gear set and mask for doing so. There will also be a “limited small batch of physical” Absolver Collector’s Editions for $$75 that includes a wearable mask, an art book and a sticker pack.

ARK: Survival Evolved – No Server Wipe Ahead of August 8th Launch

When ARK: Survival Evolved launches on August 8th, current official servers will not be wiped, but will be rebranded as “Legacy” servers. For players looking for an all new ground-up experience, new PvP Server Cluster network will be launched that will run separately from the PvP Legacy Server Cluster. At launch, new server code and infrastructure will be rolling out to address a number of critical issues on new and legacy servers over time.

Here are the viewership results for ESPN2’s broadcast of the Evo 2017 Street Fighter V finals

This year marked Evo’s second year on ESPN2, as the Street Fighter V finals on Sunday were once again broadcasted on the network. So, the question now is, how did it do in terms of viewership?

ESPN2’s Evo 2017 Street Fighter V finals broadcast on Sunday pulled in an average of 180,000 viewers over the course of the event. Of this, approximately 136,900 were from the key 18 to 49-year-old range, covering ESPN’s target demographic. This is comparable to the viewership numbers on the simulcast on Twitch, which pulled in 179,200 on the main channel, and 219,568 on Twitch in total.

What’s interesting is the fact that the ESPN2 ratings are slightly down compared to last year’s broadcast, which peaked at 201,000 viewers. While this is somewhat disappointing, it’s not unexpected — given the growing number of viewers opting to cut their cable service in favor of internet-based streaming.

More importantly, ESPN2 wasn’t the only channel broadcasting the Street Fighter V finals at Evo this year. Sister channel DisneyXD also broadcast the event (alongside the finals for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U), though the numbers for those aren’t yet listed.

– Age of Heroes VR Game ‘Inspired by MMOs’ Coming July 20th

OmniGames has announced that Age of Heroes, a VR title “inspired by MMORPGs” is coming to VR users on Steam Early Access beginning July 20th. In Age of Heroes, synergistic teamwork is emphasized as up to five players take on wave arena combat and fight “terrifying bosses in different battles”. Character classes include Warlock, Wizard, Priest and Ranger.
